May Day is a recognised holiday all over the world. With my day off I decided to visit Culloden Battle field. Growing up, just down the road from the famous battle field, I never realised the significance of it until I was older. Back then the battle field was covered with trees, nowadays the field has been cleared to allow visitors to view the field as it would have been 272 years ago. The visitor center and battle field are both well worth a visit. The anniversary of the battle was commemorated last month and you will see from the pictures that some of the floral tributes are now starting to fade.
