May Day is a recognised holiday all over the world. With my day off I decided to visit Culloden Battlefield. Growing up, just down the road from the famous battlefield, I never realised the significance of it until I was older. Back then the battlefield was covered with trees, nowadays the field has been cleared to allow visitors to view the field as it would have been 272 years ago. The visitor center and battlefield are both well worth a visit. The anniversary of the battle was commemorated last month and you will see from the pictures that some of the floral tributes are now starting to fade.
